Korea Customs Service approves relocation of Entas Duty Free downtown store to Paradise City

SOUTH KOREA. In major breaking news, Korea Customs Service yesterday approved Entas Duty Free’s application to relocate its downtown duty free store from the city of Incheon to Paradise City.

Paradise City, which opened in April, is the first resort-style casino in Northeast Asia. It is 40 minutes by train from Seoul and walking distance from Incheon International Airport. The 330,000sq m resort is a joint venture between Paradise Group and Sega Sammy Holdings.

Visitors flying to Incheon from Beijing, Shanghai and Tokyo can reach the resort in about 90 minutes. Paradise Group forecasts 1.5 million visitors in 2017.

Entas Duty Free will unveil a 3,000sq m store in the second half of 2018 along with Paradise City’s second round of facilities, including a waterpark, spa, Asia’s largest nightclub and a family-friendly carnival area.

Duty free spends at Paradise City are expected to be four times the Korean average

Entas Duty Free CEO David Yu said, “The average transaction amount for casino visitors in the duty free shop is US$1,450, which is four times higher than the Korea duty free average. We will introduce high-end watches & jewellery along with the top fashion brands to cater to casino visitors.”

Incheon Airport Terminal 2 store to open

Entas Duty Free will also unveil a 741sq m duty free shop in January 2018 to coincide with the opening of Incheon International Airport’s new Terminal 2. Entas was awarded one of three concessions reserved for small & medium enterprises (SMEs) in the T2 tender announced last April.

The shop is divided into three sections; cosmetics & perfume, liquor & tobacco, and fashion. The cosmetics brands include Lancôme, YSL, Kiehl’s, Estée Lauder, Tom Ford, and MAC among other premium brands.

Entas Duty Free will unveil a 3,000sq m store in the second half of 2018. Other facilities will include a waterpark, spa, Asia’s largest nightclub and a family-friendly carnival area.
