CHINA. Kering Eyewear has partnered exclusively with China Duty Free Group (CDFG) to reveal a Lunar New Year sunglasses special edition from Gucci. It is now available in Chinese travel retail through CDFG stores.
The style features a new colourway in an oversized square-shaped silhouette with gold frames and dark red acetate tips. The special edition has festive burgundy gradient lenses that represent good luck and fortune for the new year.
The sunglasses are crafted in a lightweight metal, decorated with Gucci’s signature Horsebit symbol on the temples.
The launch is supported by a travel retail-exclusive media campaign starring Gucci Brand Ambassador Chinese actress Ni Ni. She is best known for her role in the film ‘The Flowers of War’ and Chinese television series ‘Love and Destiny.’
The striking campaign visual features Ni wearing the Gucci sunglasses, sitting on a traditional Chinese boat, while on canal tour of the historic town of Wuzhen, which is located in the north of Zhejiang Province.
