Kapila Ireland (Gohel) to join The Moodie Davitt Report

INTERNATIONAL. Kapila Ireland (nee Gohel) is joining The Moodie Davitt Report as Editor-in-Chief of the company’s fast-expanding food & beverage division, effective 18 September. This encompasses sister title The Foodie Report and the highly successful annual Airport Food & Beverage (FAB) Conference & Awards.

Kapila, who is currently Editor of Duty-Free News International, will assume additional senior management responsibilities at The Moodie Davitt Report in 2018.

An Honours graduate from Brunel University in 2004, Kapila has held several senior editorial positions including spells as Editor of Asia Fund Manager in Hong Kong and as a Senior Consultant with CoreData Research in Cape Town. She joined Duty-Free News International in June 2013 as Digital Editor, becoming Editor in May 2015. She has a particular interest in, and knowledge of, food and wines & spirits and is about to embark on the WSET Level 3 Award in Wines and Spirits.

The Moodie Davitt Report Founder & CEO Martin Moodie said: “Kapila has done a fine job in developing Duty-Free News International, where both I and my business partner Dermot Davitt have also previously spent time in the Editor’s chair. Her combination of editorial and people skills, personal integrity and knowledge of the wines, spirits & food sectors make her an ideal appointment as we seek to strengthen both our management team and our market-leading coverage of the burgeoning airport food & beverage sector.”
