Malaysian upscale retailer Valiram has appointed Jason Blejwas as Senior Vice President Merchandising and Planning.
The highly regarded Blejwas has spent the past eight years at DFS Group in Hong Kong in a variety of senior positions, including Global Merchandising Manager – Sunglasses and Fashion Jewelry; Global Merchandising Director – Fashion, Watches, Jewelry, and Accessories; and, from January 2019 until last November as Global Fashion Operations Director.
Blejwas has over 18 years of experience on both the retailer and brand side with a focus on innovation. He has successfully opened and managed retail locations across 12 countries in flagship department stores and first-tier international airports.
Valiram, established in Kuala Lumpur in 1935, has grown from a textile merchant into a conglomerate of luxury and lifestyle brands. Today it is ranked as one of Southeast Asia’s most prestigious specialist retailers, including a strong presence in the travel retail sector.
It is present in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Australia, the Philippines, Thailand, Russia, Macau and Vietnam. Valiram operates more than 350 stores, and represents over 200 brands across various categories, including fashion and accessories, timepieces and jewellery, perfume and cosmetics, confectionery, and dining concepts.
