Island to island: Times DF Haikou Mission Hills launches bespoke Lambay Single Malt Irish Whiskey

CHINA. Times DF Haikou Mission Hills Duty-Free Town has introduced a bespoke batch of limited-edition Lambay Single Malt Single Cask Strength Irish Whiskey.

The Cask 4595 Single Cask Strength Whiskey was specially produced by Lambay co-owner* Camus for the retail company’s owner Shenzhen Duty Free with a limited supply of just 414 bottles.

Each is individually numbered, presented in an elegant wooden box and labelled ‘Exclusively bottled for Times DF’.

The Cognac casks used to mature the whiskey were selected by Camus Master Blender Patrick Leger. Times DF said the end product integrates hundreds of years of Irish whisky distilling techniques with the French Cognac blending skills that have been passed down through five generations of the Camus family.

The Lambay Single Malt Single Cask Strength Irish Whiskey is triple-distilled, matured in bourbon-barrel wood, and finished in Cognac casks, exhibiting what the retailer called “a unique and pure taste of island life”. Lambay is produced on the island of the same name off the east coast of Ireland.

The offering builds on a strong collaboration between Camus and Times DF Haikou Mission Hills Duty Free Town. As reported, Camus opened its first duty free flagship there, offering a full range of classic Cognacs plus rare and exceptional, super-premium collections.

“The bespoke Lambay batch that Camus created for Shenzhen Duty Free adds to the brand’s commitment to providing distinctive, quality products to attract more consumers, and forming a strong collaboration with Shenzhen Duty Free and its duty free customer base,” said Times DF.

With the upcoming 3rd China International Consumer Products Expo (Hainan Expo) in April and the anticipated further announcements of favourable Hainan offshore duty free policies, Hainan’s status as a popular duty free shopping destination in China is burgeoning, the retailer added.

Since its opening in January 2021, Times DF Haikou Mission Hills Duty-Free Town has been home to numerous world-first stores, product debuts, and the worldwide premieres of various exhibitions and shows.

Collectively, these have reflected the strong confidence and high expectations international brands have regarding the Hainan offshore duty free industry and for Times DF Haikou Mission Hills Duty-Free Town, the retailer said.
