“Irish innovation”: Coindrum expands across Dublin Airport

IRELAND. Coindrum, which allows travellers to convert unwanted coins into airport retail vouchers, has expanded its service to all terminals at Dublin Airport.

Passengers can deposit their unwanted coins into Coindrum machines located airside and receive a voucher to spend at The Loop Duty Free worth 110% of their deposit.

ARI Chief Executive Jack MacGowan said: “Coindrum is a great service and as an Irish innovation we are proud to offer it to passengers in Dublin Airport. It’s another great way to save money in The Loop Duty Free.”

Irish start-up: Dublin Airport was the first location for Coindrum’s conversion machines

Coindrum Founder and CEO Lukas Decker said he was delighted to expand at Dublin Airport where the Irish start-up launched its services back in April 2016. It now operates across nine international airports, including a recent expansion at Milan Malpensa with Dufry, and has further deals in place.

The company recently moved to a new global logistics centre in Dublin and won the Speciality Concept of the Year prize at the Frontier Awards in Cannes in October.

Coindrum is backed by several travel-tech investors, including Ryanair founder Declan Ryan, CarTrawler Co-founder Bobby Healy and Hostelworld Co-founder Tom Kennedy.
