InterVISTAS aims high in shaping Istanbul New Airport’s retail offer

TURKEY. The airside shopping precinct at Istanbul New Airport will be of a “scale never seen before”, according to the aviation consultancy firm working on the project, InterVISTAS Consulting Group.

InterVISTAS’ Hans Mohrmann and Vice-President Commercial Johan Schölvinck are advising the airport’s private owners and operating consortium IGA Havalimani Isletmesi on the development of the non-aviation business. The goal is to maximise the customer experience as well as airport income.

InterVISTAS is part of Dutch engineering company RHDHV Group. Mohrmann and Schölvinck have been working on the project since summer 2014. The pair are advising on the business development of retail, F&B, car parking and advertising, as well as the commercial side of ground handling and flight catering.

“With Unifree/Heinemann already on board as our international airside retail partner, we are co-developing an airside shopping centre of an ambition and scale never seen before,” said Schölvinck.

“With a truly unique food & beverage programme now being brought to the market, the combined customer experience will set new standards. IGA, Unifree and other partners are outstanding people. This is what you need given the short timeline and exceptional performance demands.”
