Interest builds in Newark Airport Terminal C duty free concession as RFP documents released

USA. One of the most eagerly anticipated duty free opportunities in North America this year has come to market, as United Airlines and OTG this week released RFP documents for the business at Newark Liberty International Airport Terminal C.

The United Airlines terminal has been redeveloped in partnership with OTG, which manages its concessions.

Interest in the opportunity, which we reported first last week, has been strong, at a terminal that offers the most international destinations from the New York area through the United network, according to the partners.

To receive a link to the solicitation documents upon release (expected to be next week), OTG and United ask interested parties to send an email to ewrdutyfree@otgexp.com. The tender is also advertised via a prominent banner on The Moodie Davitt Report home page.

OTG has impressively developed the dining offer at Terminal C; now attention turns to the duty free opportunity

Dufry is the incumbent duty free retailer with three stores located post-security. Other retail outlets include Dufry-owned Hudson bookstores, Tumi, Swatch and MAC boutiques among others.

OTG has already introduced over 55 new dining venues to the terminal and has deployed 6,000 iPads, allowing travellers to use their United Mileage Plus Award Miles to pay for food & beverage.
