QATAR. Hamad International Airport hosted a meet and greet fan event featuring stars from FC Bayern Munich on Tuesday (3 January). The airport is the official platinum partner of the football team.
Xabi Alonso, Joshua Kimmich, David Alaba and Juan Bernat signed autographs, pictures, FC Bayern jerseys and other merchandise for 50 fans, who were selected through online registration.
At the end of the event, the players picked out one winner in a draw to be presented with a pair of flight tickets to Munich to watch an FC Bayern Munich match at the Allianz Arena.
Bayern are in Qatar for their 2017 winter training camp, which is presented by Hamad International Airport.
“Twelve months ago, along with our partners from the club, Hamad International Airport announced that we would be the official platinum partners of FC Bayern Munich,” said HIA-Qatar Chief Operating Officer Engr. Badr Al Meer. “We are honoured to welcome the entire FC Bayern Munich team to Qatar and provide their fans in the country with an exclusive opportunity to meet their idols in person at our airport.”
FC Bayern Munich Executive Board Member Andreas Jung commented: “We are delighted to partner with [the airport], and to bring some of our top players to the airport to meet fans. We hope the fans who engage with our players will be inspired by their talent and leadership so that we can create the next generation of sporting heroes.”
