Insights and opportunities: IAADFS announces speaker programme for Duty Free Show of the Americas

IAADFS_2017_sideAMERICAS. IAADFS has announced a pioneering workshop session and speaker programme for its forthcoming Duty Free Show of the Americas.

The show is taking place on 26-29 March at the Orlando World Center Marriott, and will bring together nearly 150 exhibitors with buyers from duty free and travel retail stores around the world.

The first session of IAADFS’ education programme is entitled ‘Growth Opportunities in the Americas’ and begins at 8:00am on 27 March. The panel features ASUTIL President and COO of Dufry Brasil Gustavo Fagundes; FDFA President and Vice President of Windsor-Detroit Tunnel Duty Free Shop, Inc. Abe Taqtaq; and IAADFS Chairman of the Board and CEO of Motta Internacional Erasmo Orillac.

They will discuss the present and future growth opportunities for duty free and travel retail in the Americas. The session will be moderated by The Moodie Davitt Report Chairman Martin Moodie.

A second session on 27 March, ‘Sales and Customer Insights – Maximizing Your Potential’, will begin at 8:45am. M1nd-set owner and CEO Peter Mohn and Travel Retail Training Managing Director Christine Martin will offer insights on techniques to increase sales volume and customer penetration, focusing on employee engagement in duty free and travel retail. The speakers will also discuss how to attract and engage the millennial shopper and how to use social media more effectively, IAADFS said.

A single session on 28 March will commence at 8:00am. ‘Border Duty Free – Crossing the Frontier’ will focus on the challenges and opportunities of running duty free border stores. The session will feature Duty Free Americas Chairman Simon Falic; FDFA President and Vice President of Windsor-Detroit Tunnel Duty Free Shop, Inc. Abe Taqtaq; and Neutral Duty Free Chief Executive Officer Enrique Urioste. M1nd-set owner and CEO Peter Mohn will moderate the session.
