Inflight retail platform SKYdeals launches event-specific product catalogues

INTERNATIONAL. Inflight retail platform SKYdeals has launched event-specific product catalogues.

The ‘plug & play’ catalogues offer a variety of products and services for a short timeframe on the company’s e-commerce platform. They are tied to events such as Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, and the FIFA World Cup.

SKYdeals provides a personalised shopping experience for passengers and features offers only available during flights

Airlines can implement the event catalogues on flights connected to the Internet via onboard Wi-Fi in less than two weeks.

”It is a great opportunity for airlines to test the potential of online sales to passengers during their flight,” SKYdeals said.

“The benefits for airlines are that they can quickly deploy a connected digital service and are able to measure its performance, without any investment or commitment from them.”

As reported, SKYdeals aims to offer an entertaining shopping experience for passengers connected to the Internet via onboard Wi-Fi. It uses ‘dynamic commercial flight plan’ technology to provide travellers with special offers.

The company claims that products can be collected at the airport upon arrival or shipped by post.

“Inflight connectivity is a real revolution in the airline Industry and a fantastic opportunity to innovate and offer new experiences to travellers,” said SKYdeals CEO Julien Sivan.

“SKYdeals is the first ‘Inflight Shoppertainment’ solution, and a real innovation in the travel retail industry. Our new service allows brands and services to target in real time a captive, premium and international audience of more than three billion passengers a year.”
