In Memoriam – Jacky Pacquet, man of Cognac, friend of travel retail

jackypaquet20051With sadness we report the passing of Jacky Pacquet, long-time Rémy Martin executive and President of TFWA from 1993 until 1998. Jacky, 78,  died at his home in Segonzac, Charente, in the heart of the Cognac region he loved, following a long illness.

Jacky gave fine service to the duty free industry, a prime focus during his long career with the French drinks house. He was a warm and gentle man who won and retained many friends around the world.

He was elected to the TFWA Management Committee in 1989 before being elected President four years later. After retiring in 1998, he was named Honorary President. He also contributed much to the Bureau National Interprofessionnel du Cognac.

TFWA said today: “Jacky’s dedication to the duty free and travel retail sector was boundless. He was a true gentleman and always had a kind word for everyone he met. He will be greatly missed, and our thoughts are with his family at this sad time.” The Moodie Report joins in those condolences to Jacky’s wife Monique and family.
