Imperial Tobacco promotion marks Dubai Duty Free’s 33rd anniversary

promotion-picture-5Imperial Tobacco is running a celebratory promotion throughout December to mark Dubai Duty Free’s 33rd anniversary.

The activation, which aims to incentivise travellers to increase their intended spend, focuses on Imperial Tobacco’s Davidoff brand. Special discounts are being offered such as 33% off with the purchase of any three Davidoff cartons, or 20% off with the purchase of two.

Supporting promotional visuals include a counter top unit, shelf talkers and posters congratulating Dubai Duty Free on its birthday while staying in line with Davidoff’s ‘For the Hunters’ campaign.

Imperial Tobacco Global Travel Retail Sales and Marketing Operations Director Christian Münstermann said: “Dubai Duty Free is one of our biggest customers in global travel retail and we are thrilled to be celebrating with them. This promotion will target shoppers and international brand consumers from the Middle East and Asia who are looking for quality and a good offer.

“Happy birthday to Dubai Duty Free is an international concept for us to use; it requires no explanation and has a universal upbeat and celebratory tone. It’s a perfect example of how we work directly with customers to create eye-catching promotions that are very specifically targeted.”

Dubai Duty Free Senior Vice President of Purchasing Saba Tahir added: “Tobacco is a key category for Dubai Duty Free with sales reaching AED578.52 million (US$158.5 million) in 2015.

“Davidoff is a leading brand for us and promotions such as these are vital to maintain customer interest and drive sales. We work closely with Imperial Tobacco to ensure promotions are targeted and offer real value to our passengers and results to date indicate that this has again been a very successful activation.”
