Imperial Brands spotlights Davidoff cigarettes at TFWA Asia Pacific

Evolve is one of the Davidoff lines set to launch on the Asia Pacific market

Imperial Brands will showcase new lines from Davidoff cigarettes at the upcoming TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition in Singapore, 7-11 May (Basement 2, 2-C38).

The UK-based multinational tobacco company underlined the “special role” that Asia Pacific has to play in the global recovery of the travel retail sector. It described the Singapore event as a “landmark opportunity to reunite stakeholders in the region as Asia Pacific continues to forge its path to recovery”.

The company added: “This will also be an important opportunity for Imperial Brands to underline its confidence that the region will continue to be a vibrant leader in the global duty free and travel retail market.”

Asia Pacific is a key region, both domestically and in travel retail, for sales of Imperial Brands’ premium cigarette brand Davidoff. New lines set to hit the spotlight in Singapore include Davidoff Reach and Davidoff Evolve.

Imperial Brands will also feature its cross-category offer which includes Gauloises, West and Rizla, along with Lambert & Butler, Drum and Golden Virginia.

Imperial Brands Global Duty Free & Export Regional Manager for Region East Vangelis Nikolopoulos said: “We are very happy to be back in Singapore this year. Tobacco continues to drive footfall in duty free and travel retail, and this is as true in Asia as elsewhere.

“Davidoff is one of our most recognisable global names in tobacco with a heritage closely tied to its founder Zino Davidoff. This premium cigarette brand is one of the most popular choices among globetrotting adult smokers and remains critical to our Asia Pacific business.

“Imperial remains fully dedicated to the Asia Pacific duty free and travel retail sector, with a portfolio designed to address both global and regional consumer needs, whilst also meeting developing tobacco trends,” he added.

Imperial Brands Global Duty Free & Export Head of Corporate and Legal Affairs Tobias Baude commented: “Tobacco remains one of the top categories in global duty free as it continues to drive footfall, leading to higher cross-category purchasing, and higher overall spend in markets where travel is recovering. We firmly believe that tobacco has a strategic role to play in the collective future of travel retail and duty free and we are committed to actively drive forward this future together with our business partners.”

Baude underlined Imperial Brands’ focus on strong collaboration to deliver a successful outcome. “We are convinced that we can only build a better and brighter future for travel retail and duty free, as well as our consumers, by working together with our industry partners.” ✈
