INDIA. Today’s images are courtesy of Adani Airport Holdings and Mumbai Travel Retail, which on Friday celebrated the opening of the Thiruvananthapuram Duty Free stores at Thiruvananthapuram International Airport in Kerala.
The main store was inaugurated after the traditional Ganapathi homam ceremony, a homa (ritual) that evokes happiness, prosperity and good health. A symbol reflection, perhaps, of the encouraging recovery within India’s travel retail sector from the devastating impact of the COVID-19 crisis.
The company is operating two departures stores and one in arrivals.
As reported, Adani Airport Holdings Limited signed a Share Subscription Agreement with Flemingo Travel Retail Private Limited and Mumbai Travel Retail Private Limited (MTRPL) in late 2021. The strategic partnership to operate duty free stores in airports and seaports gave Adani a 74% share in MTRPL.
