Image of the Day: Aïda takes a slice of the Vienna Airport market

Our regular feature celebrates memorable scenes, moments, launches and campaigns related to the global aviation and travel retail sphere.

Viennese coffee and pastry shop brand Aïda today celebrated the opening of its new outlet at Vienna Airport T3, in partnership with Lagardère Travel Retail. The partners marked the moment, fittingly, with the slicing of a ceremonial aviation-themed cake, along with Vienna Airport Member of the Management Board Julian Jäger (see images).

In an entry on LinkedIn this afternoon, Jäger said: “Sweet surprise for our passengers! The new Aïda café opened today in Terminal 3. That means even more delight and tradition at Vienna Airport.”

He saluted the efforts of Aïda Executive Director Dominik Prousek and Lagardère Travel Retail Austria CEO Ursula Fürnhammer in opening the store.

Prousek and Fürnhammer spoke to The Moodie Davitt Report’s Mark Lane earlier this year about their joint plans, including expansion at Vienna Airport. Click here for that interview.
