Igor Boyadjian: Aims to build on Edrington’s momentum, notably with The Macallan

Boyadjian founded and co-owned Fix Wines & Spirits, a distribution company based in Cyprus and Dubai, in 2005. In 2013, he formed a joint venture with Edrington – Edrington Fix Middle East (EFME), which was later wholly acquired by Edrington in 2016. Before FIX Wines & Spirits, Boyadjian held roles with Allied Domecq and LVMH.

“This is an incredibly exciting time to be joining Edrington GTR,” said Boyadjian. “Under Tellis’ leadership the business has gained significant momentum, and I look forward to building on this through continued innovation and close collaboration with our partners in this strategic channel. We have strong ambitions, especially for The Macallan, for which we have very exciting projects for the years ahead.”

‘Tellis’ Baroutsis: New senior role at Edrington’s global headquarters

Tellis Baroutsis will move to Edrington’s new global headquarters in Glasgow and join Edrington’s Executive Committee as Managing Director Regional Power Brands, one of the company’s three business units.

He takes responsibility for The Famous Grouse and Cutty Sark blended scotch whiskies and Brugal rum, as well as commercial responsibility for the total portfolio in Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Baroutsis joined Edrington in 2010 and led the GTR team since its inception in 2014. During his tenure travel retail has been one of the strongest performing channels within Edrington, playing a particularly key role in the growth of the group’s flagship brand, The Macallan. Among the recent big initiatives was the opening of The Macallan’s first stand-alone boutique in partnership with Ever Rich Duty Free at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport late last year.

Baroutsis said: “My time in travel retail has been incredibly rewarding – it’s a truly global and dynamic channel that offers unique opportunities for brands. The success Edrington GTR has enjoyed is a testament to the talent and commitment of our fantastic team and partners and has given me the opportunity to move on to an exciting role where my travel retail experience will be invaluable.”

These moves are part of wider leadership changes at Edrington. Managing Director Super Premium Bill Farrar will leave Edrington in June to pursue new business interests. He will be succeeded by Paul Ross who transfers from his role as President of Edrington Americas. Ross in turn will be succeeded by Chris Spalding, who was heavily involved in the creation of Edrington Americas and is currently Commercial Director, North America.
