The company’s portfolio currently includes airport advertising concessions in Malta, Cyprus, Croatia and Greece.

Budapest Airport Chief Commercial Officer Kam Jandu said: “We ended 2015 recording all-time high growth rates for both passenger traffic and commercial/retail revenues, which led to an attractive invitation earlier this year for a new media company to partner.

“Our fantastic results drew in a selection of interested players and IAAC demonstrated their intentions to implement new and creative approaches to further increase commercial income.”

IAAC Managing Director Michael E Kyriakides said: “This contract will enable us to expand our airport advertising network, providing further opportunities for advertisers and their agencies to communicate their brand messages through premium locations and the latest technology available for brands that will soon be introduced to Budapest Airport.”

In other news at Budapest Airport, foreign exchange provider Interchange has been awarded a five-year contract extension. The company, Hungary’s largest foreign exchange specialist, has been operating at the airport since 2007. “This extension is testament to the strong partnership we enjoy,” said Interchange Hungary Managing Director Janvari Krisztian.

Commenting on both agreements, Budapest Airport Head of Retail and Advertising Patrick Bohl stated: “We’re experiencing another record year in which we’re on course to pass 11 million passengers, so we are really pleased to welcome IAAC to Budapest. We look forward to working closely with our new advertising concessionaire to reveal a range of innovative, state-of-the-art promotional formats, while also continuing our ongoing successful partnership with Interchange.”
