SOUTH KOREA. Hyundai Department Store Duty Free (Hyundai Duty Free) growth exhibition project ‘Garden Salt’ won the Communication category in the recent IF Design Award 2023.
Garden SALT was an exhibition project launched in April 2022 at Hyundai Duty Free’s Dongdaemun store. The project, launched in partnership with Korea Tourism Organization, featured dynamic visualisations of Geoje Island created by local artists.
The exhibition highlighted the natural beauty and produce of Geoje Island Geojedo on the southern coast of Gyeongsangnam-do province. It scored highly at the IF Awards for promoting the island’s merits to both local and international visitors, while also benefitting local producers.
Founded in Germany in 1953, the IF Design Award celebrates projects that combine outstanding design and social engagement. It is recognised as one of the most prestigious design competitions in the world.
The IF Design Awards 2023 selects winners in various categories including Communication, Product Design, Packaging Design, Interior Architecture and many more. Entries are judged on a strict screening process based five criteria: idea, form, function, differentiation and impact.
