HWH opens Flour + Stone, a celebration of bread, at Dubai International

UAE. “Bread unites people across all cultures.” This is the founding principle of Flour + Stone, a new restaurant at Dubai International Airport opened by HWH Hospitality Investments.

The Flour + Stone menu concept: Travel the world, one flatbread at a time.

The menu features fast but fresh bread-based dishes inspired by traditional recipes from seven countries: France, India, Turkey, Georgia, Morocco, Palestine and Lebanon.

Customers can also choose from a range of health-conscious cold-pressed juices, prepared fresh daily.

The restaurant’s menu of fast but fresh food includes sweet and savoury recipes sourced from around the world.
Restaurateur HWH Investments is known for its sleek, modern designs as well as its creative and surprising menus.

Flour + Stone is the latest opening from HWH Hospitality Investments, a Dubai-based restaurateur that takes an innovative approach to airport food & beverage. This is just one in a series of creative offerings that the team has developed in order to “disrupt the transient passenger dining experience”.

These include the Treehouse Juicery, offering healthy yet delicious food and drink; S34 Gahwa Mezza Bar, Dubai International’s first Emirati restaurant; and the striking Nutella Café.

HWH Investment’s Nutella @DXB project was the subject of a recent Spotlight Series e-Zine from The Moodie Davitt Report.

The company said Flour + Stone is based around the idea of bread as a global unifier. It sees bread, made well and hot from the oven, as the ultimate comfort food. The international menu, it added, reflects the global nature of Dubai and its airport.

HWH Investments Co-founder Mustafa Al Hashimi told The Moodie Davitt Report: “Flour + Stone is a concept very near and dear to our heart and we couldn’t be happier to launch the first flagship at Dubai International.

“It is no secret that, in recent years, bread culture has moved beyond the tasteless white, pre-sliced Wonder Bread and is now focused on quality and variety and is often revered.

“At Flour + Stone, we wanted to celebrate the simple flatbread by using our fresh, proprietary doughs to provide a canvas for exciting toppings and flavours from the world’s ovens.”

From galette to pide, manakish to naan, Flour + Stone’s menu travels the world via the medium of bread.

The restaurant opened last month at Terminal 3, on Concourse A near gates A9 and A2. HWH Investments said the feedback so far has been “amazing”.
