Hunter Laing appoints Duty Free Global for selected Europe and Asia Pacific accounts

Duty Free Global has reached an agreement with Hunter Laing to represent key brands from the independent Scotch whisky blender with selected travel retail accounts in the European and Asia Pacific markets.

The agreement comes ahead of Hunter Laing exhibiting at the TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes for the first time this year (Blue village, H17).

“We are extremely proud to be chosen by this respected family company to represent their wide range of whiskies in travel retail and duty free,” Barry Geoghegan (right) commented

Hunter Laing Export Director Andrew Laing commented: “We feel this new agreement will prove to be an exciting development in our company’s growth in the duty free and travel retail segments. We were very happy with the way our new brands were received this year at the TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition & Conference in Singapore and we look forward to working with Barry Geoghegan and his team at the TFWA World Exhibition & Conference in Cannes in October.”

Scarabus will be showcased in Cannes…

Duty Free Global Commercial Director Barry Geoghegan added: “I first met the Laing brothers at the TFWA China’s Century Conference in March this year and we had an interesting chat there, which we followed up in Singapore. The company has some very interesting brands and we look forward to working with them to build opportunities throughout the world. We are extremely proud to be chosen by this respected family company to represent their wide range of whiskies in travel retail and duty free.”

…as will the striking Islay Journey

Speaking about what the whisky blender would be showcasing in Cannes, Scott Laing said: “We feel that our Highland Journey and Islay Journey blended malts have considerable potential in many of the areas where Duty Free Global are strong and we will be looking to place these brands with selected customers. The recently launched Scarabus Islay single malt will also be of interest to many of the operators, and we will be rolling this out over the next few months.”
