Huile Prodigieuse success spurs +29% travel retail growth for Laboratoire Nuxe

French natural cosmetology brand Nuxe ended 2019 with its ‘best-ever travel retail performance to date.’

The company experienced a +29% year-on-year sales increase within the channel in 2019, buoyed by its travel-retail exclusives and the strong performance of its hero Huile Prodigieuse range.

As reported, Huile Prodigieuse has led the charge in catapulting Nuxe to international global acclaim. Ranked as the number-one product in the dry oil category in Europe, it is a particular favourite within inflight retail, where it sold some 366,000 bottles in 2018.

According to the brand, Huile Prodigieuse is the number one SKU onboard Virgin Atlantic Airways, Ryanair, Veiling, Air France, and easyJet.

Last year, the company extended the Huile Prodigieuse line to include Huile Prodigieuse Florale and Crème Prodigieuse Boost.

Nuxe Travel Retail Director Marion Bruimaud said, “Our sales by value were up +29% in 2019 which is by far the best year-on-year sales performance we have delivered in travel retail. This is making an important contribution to the overall sales of Laboratoire Nuxe.”

In 2019, Nuxe opened 38 new travel retail doors. It is now present in 265 duty free stores and onboard 66 airlines. Nuxe has also begun rolling out a revamped store identity, which aims to lend more visibility and impact. The new store furniture is now available in the brand’s key travel retail locations.

For Briumaud, 2020 ushers in a new phase of development for Laboratoire Nuxe as it gears up to launch several innovations and travel retail exclusives. “2020 will see the global launch of a number of important new Nuxe products which we will also be able to bring to travel retail markets,” she noted.
