Hudson Group wins 10-year contract at Boston Logan International Airport

USA. Hudson Group has been awarded a 10-year contract at Boston Logan International Airport by Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) and MarketPlace Logan.

The joint venture agreement covers nearly 40 stores and over 34,000sq ft of retail space across Terminals A, B, C, and E.

Dufry company Hudson will operate the following brands: Hudson, Ink by Hudson, Tech on the Go, 5th & Sunset, MAC, Tumi, Vineyard Vines, and Dunkin’ Donuts – a concept Hudson said it would continue to expand throughout 2018.

Boston bonanza: The contract covers nearly 40 stores and over 34,000sq ft of retail space.

Travel essentials and convenience brand Hudson is divided into four major categories and is colour-coded for ease of navigation, the company said. Store offerings include books, magazines, snacks and beverages, travel and convenience necessities, local souvenirs and electronics.

Ink by Hudson is a contemporary bookstore which aims to serve as a cultural hub. In Boston, a curated assortment of bestsellers, small press titles, classics, prize-winners and local favourites will be offered, as well as toys, stationery, fashion, artwork, travel essentials and indulgences.

Tech on the Go will offer brand names such as Belkin, House of Marley, Wicked, Monster and Mophie, while 5th & Sunset is Hudson Group’s proprietary sunglasses and accessories store.

The MAC beauty outlet will offer “individualised merchandise mix and category breadth that appeals to all ages, complexions, and skin types”, according to the company.

Tumi will offer bags and travel accessories while Vineyard Vines will present a selection of apparel and accessories for men and women.

Dunkin’ Donuts is a popular chain offering coffee and baked goods and originated in Massachusetts.

Hudson already operates retail concessions in Terminals B, C and E. The new additions will increase its total footprint at Boston Logan by 9,000sq ft, or +36%, in the next two years.

“We are excited to grow our existing footprint at Boston Logan International Airport, one of the busiest airports in the Northeast,” said Hudson Group President and Chief Executive Officer Joseph DiDomizio. “Our commitment [is] to enhance the traveller shopping experience with great retail and quick-service food & beverage concepts throughout North America.”

HMSHost was this week awarded a 10-year contract to operate 14 food & beverage locations at Boston Logan International Airport, in partnership with Master ConcessionAir. MarketPlace Logan also announced other upcoming F&B and retail openings at the airport.
