Hudson Group awarded ten-year contract extension at Pittsburgh International Airport

USA. Hudson Group has announced a ten-year concession contract extension with Fraport USA and Allegheny County Airport Authority at Pittsburgh International Airport.

The contract covers over 10,900sq ft and includes the renovation of six stores. Fraport USA manages and develops retail and food & beverage operations at the airport.

Brands represented in the contract include Hudson, Sarris Candies, Dunkin’ Donuts and Ink by Hudson – a contemporary and indie-inspired bookstore concept.

“Pittsburgh International Airport is committed to providing passengers with an enhanced travel retail and food & beverage experience,” said Allegheny County Airport Authority Chief Commercial Officer Eric Sprys.

“Creating a Sense of Place is a major initiative as we move forward. We’re happy to build on our relationship with Hudson Group and Fraport through our shared vision to provide travellers with an unparalleled mix of local and national brands.”

Hudson Group has operated at Pittsburgh Airport since 2003. President and Chief Executive Officer Joseph DiDomizio said: “We are thrilled to support the Allegheny County Airport Authority and Fraport as they continue to transform the concessions and retail programme and cannot wait for passengers and visitors alike to enjoy our renovated store concepts.”

The travel retailer, which floated on the New York Stock Exchange in February, has also recently announced concession gains at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport.

Travel Essentials

Hudson: The travel essentials and convenience brand’s stores are divided into four major categories and colour-coded for easy navigation. Store offerings range from books, magazines, snacks and beverages, to travel and convenience essentials, local souvenirs and electronics.

Speciality Retail

Sarris Candies: A local brand based in Pennsylvania known for its variety of speciality chocolates and confectionery.

Ink by Hudson: A new contemporary bookstore that aims to be a cultural hub at the airport. A selection of toys, stationery, fashion, artwork, travel essentials and treats complement the books on offer.

Food & Beverage

Dunkin’ Donuts: Serving coffee and baked goods in the Landside Terminal, with a second store location scheduled to open later this year.
