Houston Airport System seeks foreign exchange concession partner

USA. Houston Airport System has issued a Request for Proposals for a contract to manage foreign exchange and other passenger amenities at Houston’s two airports.

The five-year concession, covering George Bush Intercontinental and William Hobby airports, aims to improve “selection and value” for international travellers and to maximise revenue, said Houston Airport System.

Houston George Bush Airport: A five-year foreign exchange deal is on offer

Candidates must have at least three years managing currency exchange concessions at airports within the past five years. The City of Houston expects a minimum investment of US$200 per square foot in facilities.

There is a requirement for an Airport Concessions Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (ACDBE) partner to take a 35% stake in the entity that manages the business.

A pre-proposal conference will be held on 29 December with proposals due on 19 January. The estimated award date is 1 March and estimated contract start date around 5 May next year.
