HMSHost to open eight F&B venues worth €80 million over contract term at Stockholm Arlanda Airport

SWEDEN. Travel restaurateur HMSHost International has won a contract valued at nearly €80 million (US$84 million) over five years to operate eight new food & beverage locations at Stockholm Arlanda Airport. Featuring a strong Sense of Place, they include seven standalone outlets and a food court hosting five different concepts.

The new locations became available as part of airport operator Swedavia’s redevelopment work at Stockholm Arlanda, which will combine terminals 4 and 5.

A food court with extensive seating and five concepts will anchoring the new F&B line-up

The latest contract with HMSHost International continues a partnership which began in 2005. The new venues will open during the second half of 2023.

Swedish café brand Espresso House – well-known across the Nordics and Germany – will open two stores with HMSHost International.

Stockholm’s 60 Degrees – Bar and Brewery is a local concept to be introduced by HMSHost which will serve local craft beers and gourmet dishes.

Travellers looking for food on-the-go will find it at HMSHost’s Fresh Forward, while Brew’d will cater for both coffee and beer lovers with a food menu covering all parts of the day.

A keystone of the new F&B offer is SAMLA – City Kitchens, a food court which will include taqueria La Neta, Asian favourites from Asia Street Cooking, and burger and Middle Eastern offers from Bun Meat Bun and Baba Grill, respectively.

HMSHost International Regional Managing Director Europe Sytze van der Aa said: “The redevelopment of Stockholm Arlanda Airport’s food & beverage offerings gave us an opportunity to reimagine our guest experience.

“Our extensive brand portfolio and strong local relationships created the perfect platform from which we could curate a beautiful, and truly Swedish, guest experience. We are so happy to work together with Swedavia as long-term business partners, continuing to create places people want to be, and look forward to opening our new stores next year.”

The HMSHost concept Fresh Forward will offer a wide variety of options for passengers looking for food and drinks on the go

Swedavia Chief Marketing Officer Charlotte Ljunggren said: “Passengers at Stockholm Arlanda Airport should be able to easily choose from a variety of food outlets with flavours from different parts of the world, and the airport’s offering should be able to meet all kinds of needs that passengers can feasibly have, no matter the time of day or night.”

She added: “At the same time, the offering and experience should contribute to a memorable experience that people want to share with others and enjoy again soon.”
