HMSHost set to seal three-year F&B contract extension at St. Louis Lambert International

US. The St. Louis Airport Commission has granted preliminary approval for a three-year extension to HMSHost’s food & beverage concession at St. Louis Lambert International Airport.

The extension agreement calls for an initial Minimum Annual Guarantee of US$4.7 million, which is a +6% increase over the existing financial terms.

The current contract is due to expire on 31 December 2020, but final approval from the City of St. Louis would see the extension terms begin in January 2020 and run through to the end of 2023. If rubber-stamped, the extension will require HMSHost to invest at least US$3.5 million in new restaurant concepts and upgrades.

The Blue Note Bar Grill, a St. Louis Blues ice hockey-themed restaurant, will be among the stand-out additions of a US$3.5 million investment in new restaurant concepts and upgrades at St. Louis Lambert International Airport

The new concepts will include a new St. Louis Blues ice hockey-themed restaurant, the Blue Note Bar and Grill, to replace an existing restaurant in Terminal 2. HMSHost will also bring a new concept to Concourse C under the terms of the agreement.

HMSHost will continue its existing business partnerships through the extension, including its joint venture with D&D Concessions (Host D&D STL FB), which covers 21 sit-down dining, fast casual and grab and go units. HMSHost sub-leases locations for ten additional quick serve, sit-down dining or kiosk concepts operated by OHM Concession Group.

Upgrades and refurbishments to HMSHost’s other concepts will be announced at a later date.

The concessionaire and its partners currently operate a mix of restaurants at the airport ranging from national brands such as Chili’s, Starbucks, Dunkin’ Donuts, and Baskin Robbins, to local concepts including the Pasta House, Mike Shannon’s Grill, Schlafly Bar & Grill and STL Brewmasters Tap Room.

The St. Louis Airport Commission has separate concession agreements for its Vino Volo wine bar units (A and C Concourses), Three Kings Public House, and the Pasta House/Schlafly restaurant in Terminal 2.
