HMSHost opens Land-Grant Brewery at Columbus International

USA. HMSHost has opened a Land-Grant Brewing Company bar and restaurant at John Glenn Columbus International Airport.

The new Concourse B outlet, which features a beer garden, takes its name from a well-known brewery in the Columbus East Franklinton neighbourhood.

HMSHost Vice President Business Development Kent Vanden Oever said: “Working with John Glenn Columbus International Airport and Land-Grant Brewing Company to open this new bar and restaurant is so exciting because we are giving travellers access to one of the most popular craft breweries in Columbus.

“Land-Grant is great for the airport because it represents locally-made beer and home sports teams. It’s a fun atmosphere; it creates a Sense of Place and shows local pride.”

Draft beers from an eight-beer tap system include Land-Grant’s 1862 Ale Kölsch, Greenskeeper Session I.P.A., Son of a Mudder Brown Ale, Stiff-Arm I.P.A. and seasonal varieties.

The menu includes Greenskeeper Reuben with kraut flavoured by Land-Grant’s Greenskeeper Session I.P.A. and ‘dirty chips’ with a barbecue sauce flavoured by Land-Grant Son of a Mudder Brown Ale. Barbecue chicken sandwich and chicken flatbread are also available along with black bean burger, caprese flatbread, chopped salad and a wrap of spinach, fresh vegetables and red quinoa.

Columbus Regional Airport Authority President and CEO Elaine Roberts commented: “HMSHost shares our commitment to bringing local flavours into the CMH terminal. Land-Grant is already a big hit with Air Canada, American Airlines, Frontier Airlines and United Airlines passengers in Concourse B. We look forward to collaborating with HMSHost on additional restaurants in the near future, including a new full-service Starbucks that will be open 24/7 in the pre-security food court.”

The Land-Grant outlet is the latest in a series of openings by HMSHost, agreed as part of a contract extension awarded by the airport authority. A new Starbucks in the pre-security area has opened, with further outlets, including a Samuel Adams-themed bar American Craft Tavern and a PGA Tour Grill, in the pipeline.
