HMSHost opens Jersey Mike’s outlet at Charlotte Douglas International

USA. HMSHost has opened a Jersey Mike’s sub sandwich outlet at Charlotte Douglas International Airport.

As part of the opening celebrations, Jersey Mike’s and the HMSHost Foundation made a charitable donation to Charlotte’s Grace-Mar Services. The organisation aims to provide education, counselling, and professional networks to displaced workers, minorities and low to moderate income families.

Grace-Mar Services’ Upward Mobility programmes and services have created multiple employment opportunities for associates at HMSHost-operated dining venues at the airport.

The HMSHost Foundation works to fight poverty in communities by providing food, shelter, education, and workforce development opportunities. Jersey Mike’s supports a local charity whenever and wherever it opens a new store, according to company policy.

Jersey Mike’s Subs joins the F&B offerings at Charlotte Douglas International Airport.

Jersey Mike’s offers hot and cold subs, topped with sliced-to-order meats and cheeses, fresh vegetables, and ‘the juice’ – a blend of red wine vinegar and olive oil. Its menu includes #13 The Original Italian crafted with provolone, ham, prosciuttini, cappacuolo, salami and pepperoni; #7 Turkey Breast and Provolone; and #17 Jersey Mike’s Famous Philly Cheese Steak. There are also vegetarian and gluten-free options.

“Travellers love portable sandwiches and now Charlotte passengers can enjoy the finest subs from Jersey Mike’s,” said HMSHost Vice President Business Development Stephen Douglas. “With this opening, we’re thrilled to continue working with Charlotte Douglas International Airport to enhance the variety of food & beverage choices for travellers.”

Charlotte Douglas International Airport Chief Business and Innovation Officer Haley Gentry commented: “We are delighted to welcome Jersey Mike’s to Charlotte Douglas International Airport. The popular sandwich shop offers another favourite eating spot in the terminal that is sure to be a big hit with [our] more than 120,000 daily passengers.”

Jersey Mike’s is known for its hot and cold sub sandwiches.

Jersey Mike’s Franchise Systems VP Non-Traditional Development Phil Capozzi said: “Opening at Charlotte Douglas International Airport is an exciting milestone for us, especially since North Carolina helped put Jersey Mike’s on the map.

“It’s exactly 25 years since we opened our first restaurant in the state, and thanks to a wonderfully warm reception, this marks our 125th location in North Carolina. This is hopefully the first of many more units we will open with HMSHost.”

HMSHost said it was planning to open Chalice Bar in Concourse C and NODA Brewing Company in Concourse A later this year.
