HMSHost opens 14 restaurants and bars at DXB including diverse Food Village

UAE. HMSHost International has released more details of the 14 new restaurants and bars it has opened at DXB (Dubai International), with a 1,70sq m Food Village in Terminal 3 blending international and local brands.

The openings [of which many have been noted previously on The Moodie Davitt Report website] are part of a seven-year contract won in July 2019, which is worth around €84 million.

Among the high profile chains in the new Food Village in the terminal’s Concourse C are KFC, American Chinese restaurant Panda and McDonalds.

Local name Qfta offers ready-to-go wraps, while Taste of India serves Indian street food. Flat breads, tarts and other sweets are available at Flour & Stone, while Pop-top offers home-made gelato and Italian coffee. The Food Village also features a bar as well as food-cart style mobile outlets that will operate during peak hours.

A new branch of Australian dining and food retailer Jones the Grocer Express features the brand’s all-day café menu as well as a selection of artisan cheese, charcuterie boards and house beverages. The menu includes a traditional English breakfast, an ultimate Mr. Jones wagyu burger, signature salads, sandwiches and pastries. The outlet also includes a ‘grab and go’ food counter.

Roti Bhai offers a taste of India, with street wraps made fresh daily and packaged ready for immediate take away.

HMSHost International has also opened three concepts in Terminal 3’s Concourse A, in 603sq m of space. The previously-noted opening of Comptoir Libanais marks the chain’s first store outside of Europe. It serves Lebanese cuisine with a focus on Middle Eastern hospitality. The menu is also available in a grab and go format. [See recent editions of Image of the Day and The Moodie Blog for more details].

Bottega Prosecco Bar and Craft Beer offers fine Italian wines and craft beers, while an additional Jones the Grocer Express store has opened in the concourse.

HMSHost International CEO Walter Seib said he was proud that DXB operator Dubai Airports had chosen to extend a partnership with the restaurateur that began in 2012. “It’s a great achievement for us that we are rewarded for our concept offer, marketing strategy and operational excellence,” he commented. “We are proud of the cooperation, the trust and the performance of our partnership, and are looking forward to an even longer and more successful cooperation for many years to come. Together we make our guests feel good on the move.”

Dubai Airports EVP Commercial Eugene Barry added: “Dubai Airports has enjoyed a successful partnership with HMSHost for a number of years, and our partnership has evolved as customer expectations and travel behaviour has developed. The addition of these 14 new food concepts supports our strategy to not only be the world’s busiest international airport, but also the world’s best for customer experience.”
