NORTH AMERICA. HMSHost has named Iris Messina (pictured) as Vice President of Business Development. She was previously Vice President Leasing for airport commercial developer Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield.

In her new role (effective from 4 March), Messina will manage the company’s long-term business development activities with airport clients throughout North America.

“We are delighted to welcome Iris into the HMSHost family. She is a valuable addition to our team and a seasoned executive that is respected throughout the airport industry,” said HMSHost Executive Vice President of Business Development Derryl Benton. “This is an exciting time for her to be joining HMSHost to help build on our mission to bring world class dining experiences to airports and travellers in North America.”

In her former role with Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield, Messina was responsible for business development leasing activity for the airport division including master planning, prospecting, negotiations, and relationship management.

She was recently appointed to the Airport Minority Advisory Council (AMAC) Board of Directors and is a member of other leading industry organisations including Airports Council International – North America and the American Association of Airport Executives. Before joining Westfield in 2002, Messina spent 12 years in retail sales and management.

“I’m excited for this opportunity to join HMSHost and be a part of their vision to transform the traveller dining experience through culinary people and technological innovation,” said Messina.

As reported, Messina was a speaker at the 2017 Airport Food & Beverage Conference (FAB) in Helsinki, where she discussed partnerships and the next generation of airport dining experiences.

The 2019 FAB Conference & Awards will be hosted by Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport on 26-27 June. Click here for more details.
