HMSHost International captures €50 million Helsinki Airport F&B contract

FINLAND. Autogrill company HMSHost International has won a four-outlet contract at Helsinki Airport that is valued at €50 million in turnover across a six-year term.

HMSHost International will introduce four new brands amid an upgrade of the terminal by early 2024. These include Italian Kitchen Terracotta, wine and seafood bar Bubbles, Nordic Kitchen Deli, Bar & Bistro, and Espresso House. This extends the concessionaire’s footprint at the airport to 18 outlets.

HMSHost International Regional Managing Director Europe Sytze van der Aa said: “It is a privilege to play a role in the redevelopment of Helsinki Airport and we are delighted to be a part of Finavia’s vision to create world-class service at the airport.

“We have curated our space to deliver a future-proofed F&B portfolio, in terms of local and global flavours, design and sustainability. We want to create places to be, for both our guests and associates. With each store equipped with a to-go section and seating areas giving views over the airfield, we are the right place at the right time for our guests.”

Finavia Director of Commercial Business at Helsinki Airport Nora Immonen added: “We are excited to further develop the food & beverage selection together with our long-term partner HMSHost International. We are positive our passengers will enjoy the new restaurant concepts. Our aim is to increase the supply of hot foods and offer a wide range of takeaway products that are available around the clock.”

Enhanced local flavour through Nordic Kitchen Deli, Bar & Bistro

Italian Kitchen Terracotta offers Neapolitan and other pizza types, paninis, and panzerotti from breakfast to dinner, and houses an eye-catching pizza oven.

Bubbles, HMSHost’s wine and seafood bar brand, features airfield views and “responds to a growing trend for premium wines and fresh and healthy seafood dishes,” said the company.

Nordic Kitchen Deli, Bar & Bistro offers seasonality, locality and traditional flavours in the craft beer range and other artisanal products on the menu while Espresso House brings the flavour of the popular coffee chain to the airport. ✈
