CHINA. HMSHost International has opened eight food & beverage outlets at the new downtown Shanghai No. 1 Shopping Center, offering a mix of international and local brands.
Four of the international brands have been introduced to China for the first time. P.F. Chang’s is an Asian restaurant concept in which food is made from scratch every day in each restaurant. The chain celebrates the 2,000-year-old tradition of wok cooking and first opened in Arizona, USA in 1993. There are now over 300 P.F. Chang’s restaurants around the world.
Sushigroove is a sushi bar that aims to be “trendy yet casual”. It features creative Japanese dishes and emphasises eye-catching design and “hip” music.
Jones the Grocer is a food emporium first established in Australia in 1996. The Shanghai store serves a modern Australian-influenced menu that is cooked in an open theatre kitchen, bakery and patisserie. The store also features a cheese and charcuterie selection, a deli, steak grill and bar.
Mango Chili Thai Café offers Thai street food at an affordable price. The store at the No. 1 Shopping Center features its signature dishes such as the Thai beef noodle, Pad Thai, Thai Spring Rolls and Tom Yum Goong.
HMSHost has also opened Italian restaurant Bistrot at No. 1 Shopping Center as well as three local brands. These are: Chinese restaurant Crystal Jade, Crystal Jade Express and The Dining Room.
“Only three years ago we took our first steps in China. In these years we created a solid base and grew steadily,” said HMSHost International CEO Walter Seib. “Now we took another opportunity of opening eight concepts in one of the most attractive shopping centres in Shanghai. Thanks to our great local team and the partnership with our valued business partners, we can strengthen HMSHost’s presence in the Asia Pacific region.”
No. 1 Shopping Center General Manager Fan Li Qun commented: “We are very glad to have the cooperation with HMSHost International and its mother company Autogrill. The eight concepts they opened in No. 1 Shopping Center have brought a new dynamic to our project and exclusive experience to our consumers. We would like to continue our partnership by bringing more and more world famous dining options to locals.”
