HMSHost channels Nordic lifestyle and Italian flavours for Stockholm Skavsta openings

SWEDEN. HMSHost International will open two food & beverage outlets at Stockholm Skavsta Airport before the summer.

A ten-year contract between the parties has been signed. Total sales are expected to be SEK610 million (€63.5 million, US$68.2 million) over the course of the contract.

The restaurateur will open Nordic Bar and a Puro Gusto outlet serving Italian coffee. The openings are part of HMSHost’s expansion strategy in the Nordics.

The Nordic Bar aims to “take the simplicity of the Nordic lifestyle and translate it into a basic and functional concept”. The food menu will feature locally sourced and seasonal offerings combined with international favourites. All dishes will be prepared in front of guests.

HMSHost will also bring together “the best crafted beer available in Scandinavia” for the drinks menu. The Nordic Bar will offer five draft beers, including one seasonal choice as well as a selection of Scandinavian bottled beers.

As well as coffee, Puro Gusto will offer Italian bakery products, hot and cold dishes and sandwiches. All will be prepared fresh daily.

“Since 2004 we have operated a food hall, bar and coffee shop at Stockholm Skavsta Airport and we are proud of being part of the next phase of this Swedish airport,” said HMSHost International CEO Walter Seib. “It is a region which is famous for their Nordic lifestyle and I believe we can contribute to that with our mix of international favourites and popular local dishes.”

“HMSHost is a reputable food & beverage operator at airports internationally with a feel for the Nordic environment. The new concepts, with their revamped layout, will contribute much to upgrading of both the appearance and the service levels at our airport.”
