HMSHost captures airport F&B contracts in Dubai and India valued at €200 million

MIDDLE EAST/INDIA. HMSHost International has won a series of tenders at DXB (Dubai International) and at key Indian locations, valued collectively at around €200 million. They include 14 outlets at DXB, seven stores at Bangalore Shopping Plaza and 20 stores across Bangalore, Delhi, Hyderabad and Mumbai airports.

At DXB Terminal 3, Concourse C, HMSHost will open nine outlets in a 1,720sq m Food Village under a seven-year contract, worth around €84 million. Brands will include KFC, Heineken Bar, Panda and McDonalds. Local flavour will be added by Ofta (wraps) and Indian street food through Taste of India. Flour & Stone will offer flat breads, tarts and other sweets, while the Village will also house units for home-made gelato and Italian coffee as well as mobile carts to serve peak periods.

In Concourse A, HMSHost will open three new outlets across 603sq m. The opening of Comptoir Libanais will mark the chain’s first store outside of Europe, with the menu also available in a grab & go format. Italian wines and craft beers will feature at Bottega Prosecco Bar and Craft Beer, while an additional Jones the Grocer Express store will also open in this concourse.

In Terminal 2 two new food & beverage locations will open, including a further 162sq m Jones the Grocer Express. This will offer portable menu items such as the brand’s single origin coffees, croissants, muffins, sandwiches, salads, soups and mains. Roti Bhai will sell Indian street wraps made fresh daily and packaged for immediate take away.

The Concourse A and T2 contracts have a duration between three and five years, with a combined contract value of €47 million.

Indian expansion

In India the F&B specialist will open six restaurants in the Prestige Shantiniketan Forum Mall on Whitefield Main Road, Bangalore. Tiffin Express and Taste of India will serve local Indian dishes, complemented by international brands Noodles, KFC, Domino’s Pizza and Burger King. Thai restaurant Mango Chili will open this summer. This seven-store, nine-year contract is worth €29 million, said HMSHost.

HMSHost International has also secured contracts in the key airports of Bangalore, Delhi, Hyderabad and Mumbai with durations between three years and five years.

At Bengaluru Airport, HMSHost has opened three stores in the airport’s landside arrivals zone: Harvest Market, Pizza Hut and south Indian vegetarian cuisine brand, Ooru Canteen.

At Delhi International Airport India, after re-entering the location in 2017 HMSHost will open an additional nine new outlets. In the Airport Connect Building and Metro Station Terminal Three the company will open Pizza Hut and two Café Espresso units. In Terminal 3 there will be three Café Espresso’s, two Chaayos – a popular local tea café chain – and grab-and-go concept Urban Food Market.

At Hyderabad Airport, HMSHost will extend its current contract in Domestic Departures, with two stores from sandwich chain Subway, alongside Tiffin Express and Café Espresso.

At Mumbai International, HMSHost recently re-entered the airport with four stores in Terminal 1B. This includes local cuisine with Gujarati Svado and Taste of India, as well as Idli and Dosa Factory, plus Pizza Hut.
