HMSHost and FDY Inc. bring regional flavours to Norfolk International Airport

USA. HMSHost has partnered with FDY Inc. and Norfolk Airport Authority for a restaurant opening at Norfolk International Airport in Virginia which celebrates the region’s cuisine.

The Local @ ORF is located in the pre-security lobby area at the airport.

“We’re thrilled to highlight for both local and tourist travellers some of the region’s outstanding culinary creations and local breweries that are a focal point of The Local @ ORF’s menu,” said HMSHost Vice President of Business Development Bryan Loden. “We’re thankful to our joint venture partner FDY Inc. and the Norfolk Airport Authority for an outstanding partnership to enhance the airport dining options for Hampton Roads travellers.”

On the menu: Chesapeake Cobb Salad features a bed of green leaves served with pan-fried crab cake, feta, red onion, tomato, avocado and smoked bacon, with herb vinaigrette dressing

The Local @ ORF’s menu features dishes such as ‘Dirty Chips’, nachos served with pulled pork and green onion aioli and Chesapeake Cobb Salad served with crab cake, feta, avocado and smoked bacon. Other highlights include burgers, flatbread pizza, Shrimp Po Boy (pictured directly below) and fish and chips.

Breakfast items include Shrimp & Grits and Chesapeake Blue Crab Omelette. There is also a bar serving regional wines, domestic, imported and craft beverages, including beers from local breweries O’Connor Brewing Co. and Coelacanth Brewing Company.
