BELGIUM. Hi Duty Free has announced a partnership with travel retailer International Duty Free (IDF).
Travellers using Hi Duty Free’s ‘Instamiles’ app at IDF’s stores at Brussels Zaventem Airport will be able to take advantage of exclusive offers and promotions, while purchases will be rewarded with air miles.
The air miles can be redeemed in either Lufthansa’s Miles & More programme or Air France’s and KLM’s Blue Miles programme.
To benefit, travellers must take a picture of their shopping receipt or receipts with the Instamiles app. Flyers can get up to 1.5 miles per Euro spent (except on tobacco) in the IDF duty free shops. A minimum purchase of €25 per day in the IDF duty free shops is required.
Hi Duty Free also noted that anyone could purchase luxury products available at Brussels Airport via its online travel retail marketplace. In it, shoppers can request that frequent flyers purchase duty free items for them.
The shoppers do not have to travel to gain access to duty free products but can still benefit from discounts. The frequent flyers use their boarding pass to buy the items at the airport in exchange for air miles credited in their loyalty programmes.
Hi Duty Free was recently profiled in The Moodie Davitt Report, which you can read here.
