Heathrow Airport hits all-time high for passenger traffic in July

UK. London Heathrow Airport handled 7.53 million passengers in July, a rise of +1.2% compared to last year and a new record high for any month at the airport. The business was driven by the summer holiday peak, with an average 243,000 travellers using the airport each day.

Middle Eastern destinations posted growth of +7% while more flights to Brazil pushed up passenger numbers to Latin America by +3% year-on-year. UK traffic rose by almost +5% on the back of recently launched Flybe flights to Scotland.

In the first seven months Heathrow traffic climbed by +3.4% to 44.66 million. The Middle East was a key driver, with traffic rising by +12%, while the other major regions of Europe, North America and Asia Pacific showed growth of +2.7%, +1.2% and +4.8% respectively.
