AUSTRIA. Lagardère Travel Retail has opened a second Brezel Meister outlet at Vienna International Airport.
The company’s gastronomic concept specialises in freshly baked pretzels and is situated landside at the airport. It features a “rustic, contemporary design”, according to Lagardère. The first Brezel Meister opened airside at the airport in autumn 2016.
“Hearty, cosy and urban: with our inviting atmosphere and our crispy pretzel varieties, we equally attract our German-speaking guests as well as international visitors,” said Lagardère Travel Retail Site Manager at Vienna International Airport Ursula Fürnhammer.
The 120sq m Brezel Meister also features a selection of craft beers offered in a dedicated area, which has a “specially designed industrial look, giving the concept its very special touch,” said Fürnhammer. It is the only outlet at the airport to offer craft beer on tap. A selection of hot and cold beverages are also available.
The product range features Bavarian speciality ‘Weißwurst-Laugen Hot Dog’ (a pretzel filled with veal sausage), a vegetarian option filled with radish & chive, and a Mediterranean-style pretzel with prosciutto and melon. Bavarian and Austrin soups, breakfast options and sweet Austrian delicacies such as apple strudel are also available.
