Head of Corporate Affairs and Compliance Dr Jennifer Cords to leave Imperial Tobacco

Imperial Tobacco Head of Corporate Affairs and Compliance Dr Jennifer Cords is to leave the company after seven years to pursue other interests.

A member of the management team, Cords has looked after over 80 markets. Her responsibilities included handling external requirements, tightening regulation and the impacts of natural disasters such as Hurricane Irma.

Imperial Tobacco Global Duty Free Sales and Marketing Director Christian Münstermann (right) praised Cords’ “authentic humour and leadership”

Imperial Tobacco Global Duty Free Sales and Marketing Director Christian Münstermann said: “Jennifer’s superhero-skill is authentic humour. I speak on behalf of our regional teams from Athens, Hong Kong, Fort Lauderdale, Bristol and Hamburg: Jennifer leaves Imperial’s Duty Free team in a very strong position for future growth and we sincerely thank her for her contribution and leadership during her tenure as our “global voice”.”

Cords commented: “I love this feedback, it is quite unique when you consider that I am also leading the Compliance department, which sometimes is perceived as a fun-free environment.”

Münstermann added: “Imperial seeks a replacement. The new candidate should ensure continuity in protecting and promoting Imperial’s duty free business. I am happy to serve as a point of contact in case of interest.”
