Halewood’s Surprisingly Good wines set sail with P&O Ferries

Halewood Wines & Spirits has hailed the success of its Surprisingly Good wine range, which launched with P&O Ferries in October.

The Romanian range includes Surprisingly Good Pinot Grigio and Pinot Noir. Both are priced at £4.79 (US$5.80) a bottle, or ‘six for £12’ (US$14.60), in onboard outlets.

Surprisingly Good wines: Sales have exceeded expectations

“P&O’s addition of Surprisingly Good aims to appeal to customers that are travelling to France and taking advantage of the lower duty rates and significantly reduced wine prices,” Halewood Wines & Spirits stated.

Halewood Wines & Spirits Managing Director for Global Travel Retail Simon Roffe said: “This is the initial launch of these popular Romanian wines in the travel retail sector, enabling us to expose the range to a much wider audience.

“Sales of the Surprisingly Good Pinot Grigio and Pinot Noir onboard the ferry services have already exceeded expectations, so we are now looking to expand the range by adding the White Zinfandel for the forthcoming summer season.”

As reported, Halewood Wines & Spirits will present travel retail-exclusive formats from Whitley Neill gin and The Pogues Irish whiskey at this month’s IAADFS Duty Free Show of the Americas (booth 207).
