Habanos unveils the first Gran Reserva of Montecristo

The Montecristo No. 2 Gran Reserva 2005

Cuban cigar specialist Habanos has introduced the first Gran Reserva of Montecristo, one of the most widely recognised brands in the company’s portfolio.

This Montecristo No. 2 vitola has a limited production of 5,000 numbered boxes of 15 units each. It is made from tobacco leaves selected from Vuelta Abajo in Pinar del Rio, Cuba, and harvested in 2005.

All the leaves that make a Habano – filler, wrapper and binder – were aged at least five years before taking shape in the hands of Montecristo cigar rollers in the H. Upmann factory. A panel of tasters supervises the selected blend to ensure a consistent flavour.
