Gucci Beauty reveals 100-year anniversary scent and extends Rouge à Lèvres Voile lipstick line

The Alchemist’s Garden 1921, Gucci’s 100th Anniversary scent, pays homage to the brand’s beginnings in Florence, Italy

Coty-owned beauty and fragrance house Gucci Beauty recently unveiled The Alchemist’s Garden 1921, a new fragrance that celebrates the Italian fashion house’s 100th anniversary this year. The scent pays homage to Florence, the city where the Gucci brand was born in 1921. It was launched in Americas, Asia Pacific and Europe travel retail on 1 June.

Gucci Beauty has also extended its popular Rouge à Lèvres Voile lipstick range with five new permanent shades. The new colours launched in Americas, Asia Pacific and Europe travel retail on 1 July.

The fragrance is the 11th eau de parfum in The Alchemist’s Garden line and blends Neroli with Lemone Cedrato notes

Marking Gucci’s 100th anniversary

1921 is the 11th eau de parfum in The Alchemist’s Garden line. The scent is available in a customisable collection of eaux de parfums, perfumed oils and acque profumate (scented waters).

Inspired by the art of alchemy, the fragrance blends Neroli Flower notes with Limone Cedrato from Florence, Italy. All of The Alchemist’s Garden scents are built on one hero note and can be layered together to create unique combinations. It was jointly developed by Master perfumer Alberto Morillas and Gucci Creative Director Alessandro Michele.

The Alchemist’s Garden 1921 flaçon was inspired by vintage apothecary bottles and pharmacy jars. It is made with transparent green glass, sprayed with an intricate design and gold Gucci lettering. The flaçon is decorated with a wreath, held up by a hand which represents everlasting growth, the brand said. It is housed in a regal green box, accented with gold Gucci lettering.

The Alchemist’s Garden campaign is set in a luxurious solarium, where nature is centre-stage. It was photographed by American Photographer Colin Dodgson with art direction by Christopher Simmonds. The campaign features the words ‘Celebrating 100 years’.

Gucci Rouge à Lèvres Voile welcomes five new lipstick shades

The five new permanent shades for Gucci Beauty’s popular Rouge à Lèvres Voile lipstick line were inspired by the golden age of cinema and specially designed by Alessandro Michele.

The shades were developed to complement and enhance the existing lipstick line with fresh and bright hues ranging from delicate blush to bright orange, pink and red.

The new colours comprise the Amy Blush 518, No More Orchids 410, I Dream Too Much 310, Love is Better 213 and Louise Orange 307. They feature the same lightweight, moisturising formula as other lipsticks in the collection, delivering a luminous yet smooth and sheer finish.

Designed as ‘objects of desire’, the new shades are packaged in vintage-inspired gold metallic lipstick tubes with an ivory pink rosebud print sheath.
