Groupe ADP in talks to acquire Amman International Airport operator AIG

JORDAN. Groupe ADP, in a consortium with Meridiam and ASMA Capital Partners B.S.C., has entered into exclusive negotiations to acquire a majority stake in Airport International Group (AIG), concessionaire at Amman Queen Alia International Airport.

The move is subject to Government of Jordan and Project Lenders consents. Groupe ADP said it aims to acquire a controlling stake in AIG, having had a 9.5% shareholding, through ADP International, since 2007.

Amman Airport handled 7.4 million passengers in 2016, a rise of +4.4% year-on-year. The airport opened a new terminal in 2013, with World Duty Free (now a Dufry company) managing the duty free concession.

Amman was named the best airport of its size (5-15 million passengers) in the Middle East by Airports Council International (ACI) based on the results of the 2016 Airport Service Quality (ASQ) benchmarking survey.
