The Mitsui Outlet Park KLIA Sepang, launched in July 2015, is an important part of the KLIA Aeropolis Masterplan, a vision to transform KLIA into a diversified airport city with significant business, tourism and employment opportunities.

Phase 1 comprises 128 brand outlets, including kiosks, bringing together many top international and local brands. It caters to a potential 49 million airport users and a 9 million population within the vicinity. Phase 2 will introduce more premium brands into the mix, adding more luxury international and local brands in fashion, cosmetics, sports and accessories, supported by diversification into entertainment and amusement, plus service-based tenants.

Phase 2 will be built on a 27,500sq m site and will host approximately 60 more shops with some 500 additional car park lots to complement the existing 2100 spaces.

The double-storey building is slated to be completed by early 2018 and is designed to expand upon the experience and options that shoppers have at Mitsui Outlet Park KLIA Sepang.  The next phase is in line with the architectural concept of a ‘Paradise Village’. Phase 1 showcased thematic designs based on a combination of Sunshine Square, Pier Walk, Beach Walk and Tropical Plaza concepts.

Phase 2 introduces a new ambient experience with its Sky Walk and River Walk themes. Sky Walk will have the ceilings simulated with clouds while River Walk will resemble a creek.

“The Mitsui Outlet Park KLIA Sepang will continue to complement the aspirations of the Ministry of Tourism and Culture Malaysia to make Malaysia a tourism hub while promoting economic growth of our nation,” said YBhg Tan Sri Dato Sri’ Dr Wan Abdul Aziz Wan Abdullah, Chairman of Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad, the Malaysian partner in the project.
