GUAM. Belgian chocolatier Godiva’s latest luxury collection, Gold Discovery, was the star of an extraordinary Chocolate Fashion Show held in collaboration with T Galleria by DFS in Guam.
London-based French fashion and jewellery designer Anne-Sophie Cochevelou designed four dresses for the fashion show. Her creations combined state-of-the-art fashion and representations of Godiva’s chocolate boxes, including the new collection.
The Tradition to Modernity Showpiece Dress was displayed on a static mannequin. The dress featured Classic Gold Collection boxes on the hem, a flared skirt and a bodice of Godiva Coeur-like lace. The headpiece was decorated with imitation chocolates, and new Gold Discovery boxes formed the collar.
A model in a photo booth wore the Empress Dress, featuring Gold Discovery boxes and garlands of chocolates. She encouraged shoppers to pose for photos wearing the dress after purchasing a box of Gold Discovery.
At peak times, models walked the catwalk wearing the Godiva Origami Dress, which was made from Godiva packaging materials, and the Heart of the Collection Dress, decorated with Coeur Grand, Iconique and Gold Discovery gift boxes.
“The Godiva dresses designed by Anne-Sophie Cochevelou are out of this world – quite the most extraordinary creations you could expect to find in a travel retail store” – Matthew Hodges
Godiva Travel Retail General Manager Matthew Hodges said: “DFS has worked very closely with us on the breathtaking Gold Discovery promotion that we staged in T Galleria and supported our ground-breaking initiative with enthusiasm.
“The Godiva dresses designed by Anne-Sophie Cochevelou are out of this world – quite the most extraordinary creations you could expect to find in a travel retail store. We are thrilled and excited with the results and we are confident the shoppers were equally amazed and delighted.”
The 28-piece Godiva Gold Discovery collection of ganaches, pralines, mousses and caramels includes seven new recipes and nine restyled favourites. Ganache flavours include passion fruit and pink pepper, white chocolate and bourbon vanilla, intense coffee, raspberry rose, and 85% dark chocolate.
Caramels are chocolate and salted, and mousse flavours include elderberry, lychee strawberry and a new Mexican-origin chocolate.
Pistachio is new to the praline flavours, which include hazelnut pralines in white and milk chocolate, almond praline with whole roasted almond, hazelnut praline with caramelised macadamia nuts and caramelised pecan.
The chocolates are presented in a gold gift box, embossed with the signature ‘G’ and the Lady Godiva emblem, and finished with a gold satin ribbon and hangtag. Godiva described the collection as “the epitome of premium gifting”.
