Chinese New Year 2010

Exclusive to travel retail, Godiva has produced a red and gold Chinese New Year 2010 Limited Edition Gift Box featuring “˜Tigre Noir’ chocolates to celebrate the year of the tiger in 2010. The box contains an assortment of 15 chocolates including four Tigre Noir, smooth Sao Tome ganache in a delicious dark chocolate shell in a tiger shape.

Targeting Chinese travellers during the most important festive time of the year, the Gift Box is intended to communicate “an atmosphere of warmth, happiness and togetherness”.

“Chinese travellers rank very highly for confectionery spending, so we are confident that this Limited Edition Gift Box will be very successful,” said Godiva Regional Travel Retail Director Asia Pacific CS Lam.

Godiva remains confident for the region with sales for the first quarter “holding up well” against the same period last year and remaining “on budget”.

Lam commented: “Godiva is totally committed to the travel retail business and continues to increase its investment despite the world financial crisis. Additionally we continue to expand our presence within the Asia Pacific region opening Godiva boutiques, shop-in-shops, corners and personalised fixtures.

“Our new Christmas and Chinese New Year collections will further strengthen the offer within our boutiques, SIS and chocolate counters,” added Lam. “In addition Godiva is introducing a new Chocolixir flavour, plus new bulk chocolate and dipping items; so for us 2009 is most certainly business as usual.”
