UKRAINE. Gebr Heinemann has opened a 191sq m duty free store in Terminal F at Kiev’s Boryspil International Airport – the first shop of its kind in the recently-reopened terminal.
The German retailer, which has secured a five-year contract to operate the store, now operates 18 shops across Ukraine’s busiest airport.
Gebr Heinemann Director of Sales for Eastern Europe & Central Asia Oleg Zhytomyrsky said: “We are delighted to expand our presence in Kiev and our partnership with the airport in the special year of our ten-year anniversary of successful collaboration. We are also very excited to open the first duty free shop in Terminal F and give its passengers the longed-for access to a high-quality duty free assortment and attractive prices on their journey.”
Terminal F reopened in March 2019 as the airport’s main terminal for low-cost carriers and charter flights.
The General Manager of Gebr Heinemann’s Ukrainian joint venture, BF&GH, Simon Forde said: “Terminal F principally serves low-cost carriers and charter flights, but we want our passengers to enjoy a first-class shopping experience.
“Whether our customers want premium spirits, prestige perfume brands, including Chanel, Dior and Kilian, or tasty confectionary we have a wide choice for them. We also have a section of branded sunglasses, which are very popular with the fashionable Ukrainian traveller.”
Forde added: “We are very happy to have received great feedback from our customers.”
