Galeão International Airport issues 2,200sq m Terminal 2 retail RFP

BRAZIL. Galeão International Airport in Rio de Janeiro has released a request for proposals (RFP) for the operation of seven spaces in Terminal 2 of the airport.

The RFP, which covers a total of 2,200sq m of duty-paid retail space for a five-year term, includes what the airport bills as a ‘mega store’ that will attract 100% of footfall from domestic flyers. Of the seven stores, five will be airside and two will be landside.

The Rio de Janeiro location is the second busiest international airport in Brazil

“Our objective is to create a memorable experience for anyone travelling through RIOgaleão, offering a diverse product mix, with great brands and quality services,” Riogaleão Commercial Director Leandro Dantas said. “For operators, this will be an opportunity to position their brands and concepts for a different audience.”

The airport is looking for operators that can create a strong Sense of Place both through store design and product offer; offer products and services that meet the needs of travellers; and create a differentiated experience.

Interested parties have until 10 April to forward their proposals. For more information, email comercial@riogaleao.com.
