Frey Wille pays homage to artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser with Imperial range

Austrian enamel jewellery specialist Frey Wille continues to honour the work of artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser in a new range of jewellery. The Imperial range will be featured at next month’s TFWA World Exhibition & Conference in Cannes (Yellow Village C15).

The Imperial range, which includes bangles, pendants, earrings and a watch, completes the brand’s Hommage à Hundertwasser collection.

Friedensreich Hundertwasser (1928–2000) was an Austrian-born New Zealand artist and architect who also worked in the field of environmental protection. His real name was Stowasser, from sto in the Slavic language, meaning ‘one hundred’. The artist was known worldwide by his pseudonym Hundertwasser.

Frey Wille’s latest Imperial range celebrates Friedensreich Hundertwasser’s “boundless creativity”

Frey Wille said Imperial’s multi-faceted designs, which celebrate the artist’s “boundless creativity”, were inspired by Hundertwasser’s philosophy and his Irinaland όber dem Balkan painting.

The designs emphasise the colouring and strong symbolism of Hundertwasser’s work, which dates from 1969. The painting was dedicated to an actress and her home country, Bulgaria, and is said to reflect the atmosphere of a passionate summer romance.

Frey Wille says designs in its new range symbolise freedom, adventure and light-heartedness

Frey Wille said its artists combined typical Hundertwasser elements such as houses, water and fields with a golden background and energetic colours to produce designs symbolising freedom, adventure and light-heartedness.

The Imperial range includes a bordered Donna bangle, Luna Piena pendant with anchor chain, Mini-Creoles earrings and the Helena watch.
